We love having Australian harpist, pianist and singer, Tara Minton at Toulouse Lautrec! Boasting international acclaim as performer and educator – she will dazzle you with her “Blessing of a voice” – (Mancunian Matters) and incredible playing on the Camac Big Blue Harp. Expect a fantastic set including covers of some of her favourite artists: Joni Mitchell – “I adore her! ‘A case of you’, ‘blue’, ‘both sides now’ are all classics. Very into Fleetwood Mac, Joan Armatrading, Tracy Chapman, Jewel, Norah Jones too.” (Tara Minton)
Before relocating to London in 2011, she had already performed many seasons as the harpist for the Melbourne Opera, recorded her first EP and gained an endorsement from master harp makers ‘Les Harpes Carmac’ by the director himself, Jakez François.
Since then, with a scholarship, Tara has completed her Masters in Jazz at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama (2019); released her first album, “The Tides of Love” in 2016; played and toured with countless amazing artists including: Bjork, Tom Walker, SuRie, Tony Kofi, Paul Lee and at the start of 2020, travelled Mexico playing for Miranda Mullholland. Not only that, back in March she reached the finals of the World Harp Competition in Utrect! We eagerly await a rescheduled date for the final and have our fingers crossed.
“Tara’s wonderful voice was an unexpected pleasure, on top of her amazing talent on piano.” Ashtead Jazz Club
Tara’s latest offering – “Please Do Not Ignore The Mermaid” will be released in November this year with Lateralize Records and we cannot wait! Check out the teaser here and escape into this sirens world. Meanwhile, as the Autumn Leaves start to fall, book your table to see Tara Minton now*
