We love it when the charming Ahmed Harfoush duo plays our Piano Room! The Egyptian jazz vocalist, has toured the world, with his extensive repertoire, perfectly encapsulating some of your favourite jazz standards, pop songs, and plenty of surprises. Ahmed pairs his passion for the classics with his own unique suave and spin.
With a long career which started in Cairo, he became the premier jazz vocalist and entertainer in Egypt and has been performing around the world for over a decade. You can also catch him regularly in our Jazz Club performing his triumphant, Egyptian Jazz Projekt which was a sell out and his expertly crafted tributes to Frank Sinatra and George Michael.
Harfoush received voice training privately in Cairo and at London’s Mountview Academy for Theatre Arts. Harfoush’s passion for music and the stage began with spending most of his childhood in the United States, where he was exposed to the American music legacy. Later in his teens in Cairo, he joined numerous choirs performing classical music and excerpts from classic Broadway and West End musicals.
He founded the HarfousH Jazz Band in London in 2015, and established the Egyptian Jazz Projekt (EJP) featuring jazz arrangements of classic iconic 1950s and 60s Egyptian pop songs mixed with the Great American Songbook. He performed the EJP at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room, the London Jazz Festival, Dubai Opera, The Egyptian Art Academy in Rome, the Art Brighouse Art Festival, The Egyptian Culture Centre in London, The Gomhoureyya Theatre in Cairo, Jazz Café Osmoz in Paris and the Egyptian Embassies in Berlin, Vienna and Melbourne.
