TYPE OF EVENT : Jazz

”A Winter Warmer of red hot tunes
with Nu jazz singer-songwriter, pianist and guitarist, Faye Patton."

Faye will be showcasing a range of originals from her catalogue, some standards, and some new compositions. Expect soaring, bluesy vocals, blistering piano hooks, glittering guitar riffs and smooth vibes.

Described by Jazzwise magazine as ''A singer-songwriter with a stylised vocal reminiscent of Tori Amos, with a more Ray Charles-influenced R 'n' B slant.'' - Faye Patton - known by some in the jazz world as The Jazz Pixie, appears with her long-time band members for a unique evening of music featuring an array of self-composed jazz tunes from her 4 CD releases and some well-loved vintage standards. A prodigiously funky piano player and guitarist whose songs of passion and inspiration sooth the soul and fire the spirit - with some gutsy rhythm and blues foundations from her talented crew. A uniquely classy evening with an unusual artist whose lush sonic style has attracted comparisons with Horace Silver, Judy Garland, Nina Simone, Kate Bush, Prince and Rikki Lee Jones. Be prepared for a voice that reaches heights, depths and lengths that will thrill you!

"Smoke-fuelled and chameleon-like...supreme effort of both freeform and choreographed musicianship."
Gareth Hayes, Rock n' Reel.

"One of east London's finest jazz vocalists and pianists."
Hackney Empire

"Pure Versatility...mightily impressed."
Keith Ames, Musician Magazine

”Remarkably seductive voice and presence, musically skilled, and strong and passionate personality.”
Luis Raul Montell, Radio Jazz Caribe

About Dr Sketchy London

Dr Sketchy was founded in 2005 by artist, author and former artists model Molly Crabapple. It's a little Brooklyn event that has become a movement. Now taking place in 150 cities (and counting) around the world. See more of our Dr Sketchy creator Molly Crabapple

Opening it's doors in 2007 Dr. Sketchy London is organised by Clare Marie and hosted by Dr. Sketchy's evil headmaster Dusty Limits

Life drawing is more than just nude models and serious sketching. So we've scoured this great city to find beautiful burlesque performers, bizarre circus acts, and rippling hunks of man-flesh. Then we let them loose on stage to release the artist in you!

In between each round of sketching our larger-than-life models you get a chance to grab a drink get comfortable and take in some of the finest burlesque, comedy, music, poetry and quirky cabaret performances the big smoke has to offer.

Dr Sketchy isn't about being an amazing artist, as long as you can put pencil to paper and move it around that's good enough for us and you never know you might just unleash that artist inside.

It's what art classes would be if the class was let loose in the Moulin Rouge.
