Original tunes and swinging Contemporary arrangements of classic tunes
by some of London's finest bebop musicians.

With Special Guest
Alex Garnett (Tenor Sax)

The Rob Barron Quartet features some of the UK’s finest jazz musicians in Bebop music. With regular appearances at the Ronnie Scott’s Late Late Show, a sold out show at The London Jazz Festival and gigs at venues such as the 606 club and all over the country, the band has developed a close musical rapport around a shared passion for music from the hardbop era.

Drawing influences from the classic groups of the period such as the Wes Montgomery and George Shearing Quartets and more modern groups such as the Peter Bernstein/Mike Ledonne Quartet, the band plays new exciting arrangements of timeless popular songs from Rodgers and Hart to Stevie Wonder as well as original compositions.

On the night Rob Barron will welcome special guest Alex Garnett one of the leading saxophonists in the UK and Mainland Europe for over two decades, being instantly recognized by his dark, husky sound. A versatile musician and first call sideman, he has enjoyed success as both a jazz artist, composer and arranger, and an in demand session, studio and commercial saxophonist, having racked up countless recording credits along the way.

"Truly a world class musician."
Jacqui Dankworth

"Rob Barron is to be congratulated, he is right in the tradition and everything a thoughtful jazz pianist should be."
Brian Robinson – Jazz Journal

"Pianist Rob Barron was particularly impressive, his spidery, Horace Silver- like runs carving out their own space amongst the rest of the band."
John Fordham – The Guardian

"Man, you can really swing, I love the way you connect your sound."
Benny Green – New York Jazz Journalist
