"Mellow Jazz Voice, performing the likes of Chet Baker with songs
from the Great American Songbook"

Karl Charity and his compact band are revealing the undiscovered gems from Tin Pan Alley. Karl takes a look, not at the Great American Songbook – those glittering chrome-plated standards beloved by millions and covered by artists from the Pussycat Dolls to dare I mention the Pink Sinatra, but at the Obscure Great American Songbook. And what a delightful set of songs to rediscover, or better still, discover for the very first time.

Trumpeter and vocalist Karl Charity, began his music career performing in musicals across the West End, Karl Charity has since supported a number of leading Jazz events including Roux at Parliament Square, Stompin On the Quomps and a sell-out performance at the Colour House Theatre.

Alumnus of the Royal College of Music, Karl has been playing the trumpet for over twenty years and has now taken to singing. A fresh, new voice, Karl performs some much-loved songs of jazz greats, from the dulcet tones of Chet Baker to the funky jazz sounds of Cole Porter.

Musical Theatre Concert & Open Mic

An evening of musical surprises... After the concert, you’ll be able to take part in our open-mic! 100% Musical Theatre, for everyone from everywhere!

First Half - Concert

WEF presents
with Ciarán O’Driscoll

with host Adam Benghiat

London can’t hold him and he didn’t sign up forever so whilst he still has youth, Ciáran will be foregoing the blues in an evening of nostalgia and nuance. We welcome you with vodka tonics and hope to get you all on your feet with musical ‘tidbits’ as Ciarán has finally decided his future lies beyond the yellow brick road…

Ciarán recently graduated from The Royal Welsh College Of Music and Drama. Prior to completing his Masters he studied a broad range of creative disciplines including Classical Voice and Opera at Birmingham Conservatoire, Acting studies at Rose Bruford College and Musical Theatre performance at Mountview Academy Of Theatre Arts.

Amidst his studies Ciarán has worked both in London and across the UK between theatre and music platforms. London credits include: “GEEK” (Tristan Bates Theatre), “Ushers: The Musical” (Soho Theatre), “H.M.S. Pinafore” (Union Theatre), “EIGHT” (The White Bear) and “1916” which was recorded at Abbey Road Studios and premiered at WestEnd Live.

Notably Ciarán has also appeared as a contestant on both The Voice UK and The Voice Ireland where he competed into the quarter-finals and often appears as a guest artist in concert platforms including “West End Story” (Theatre Severn) and “SCOTT ALAN LIVE” (London Hippodrome.)

Ciarán is currently working on a long anticipated one man show whilst embracing and educating himself in the world of Cabaret performance and hopes to premiere his work and creative ventures as cabaret artiste ‘Queeran’ in the oncoming months.
