Sadie Roach will be playing her modern twist on timeless classics as well as a range of tunes from a large repertoire of Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley, Bessie Smith to Nina Simone.

Sadie Roach is a 19 year old student in her second year studying Jazz Piano at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She released her first EP, 'Hooked on Love' in 2016, and it was soon played on BBC Radio 2 by Paul Jones. She has been playing piano and singing since the age of four and since then has completely immersed herself in the tradition of 'old school' soul, jazz, rhythm and blues with the help of her father, US bluesman, Michael Roach. She has performed at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival three years in a row, and in November will be performing with her father in the 'Blues Alive' blues festival in the Netherlands.

"19 year old piano vocalist Sadie is the daughter of US blue legend Michael Roach who produced her first EP, recorded in Gloucestershire. Her modern take on soul, jazz, rhythm and blues will be a great warm up to get you in the mood for the Cheltenham Jazz Festival."
Listed No.1 recommendation in Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2017 by Lewis Loves

"A wonderfully talented young woman, daughter of US bluesman Michael Roach, pianist and vocalist Sadie studied at the Duke Ellington School for the Arts in Washington DC for the last few years, before relocating to UK... Sadie is a beautiful pianist and singer; so much depth and soul in someone so young."
Bassist Wayne Elliott

”Songs for Dreamers"

Everybody is a dreamer. No matter what the dream is, it is a beautiful thing. The Songs for Dreamers concert rounds up a selection of tunes about those precious moments from the Great American Songbook as well as a couple of surprise song choices. Surely some will pull your heartstrings.

April Ho is a city-professional-turned-singer. Born and raised in China, jazz found its way into her life and stayed ever since. She moved to London 15 years ago. Making music has always been her dream. Since 2015, she has been active in London’s music scene honing her craft including performing at the famous Crazy Coqs in Piccadilly. Joining her on stage are three of the most fantastic musicians you can possibly dream of.

The band represents a true international collaboration. Alban Claret, a London-based French guitarist, has spent the last 10 years performing jazz in Europe. His playing is warm and harmonically brilliant. Eleazar Ruiz Spreafico, originally from Argentina, is one of the most in-demand double bass players in London. His rich bass line is rhythmical as well as melodic. Livio Polisano is an energetic Italian drummer. Once he starts hitting the drums it will be hard not to move your body. Come join April and her band on this starry Thursday night. Sit back, relax, dream.
