TYPE OF EVENT : Young Jazz Musicians, Jazz, Dinner Jazz

The UK is home to some of the world's finest music academies, several of them are in London and one in particular, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, is virtually on Toulouse Lautrec's doorstep. We've decided to offer GSMD students a residency they can call their own, to give our audience and us an opportunity to get to know these exceptional up and coming young players. We'll be seeing a lot of them in the future, but why wait?
Come down any Monday night and enjoy a lot of them right now.

This week Guildhall in Focus presents

Ella Hohnen-Ford (Vocals) & Joe Hill (Piano)

Ella Hohnen-Ford has been studying jazz at the Royal Academy of Music on the junior and undergrad course since she was 16, consequently establishing a well rooted relationship and deep love with the traditions of the music. Inspired by a eclectic mix of musicians spanning across genres, from Ella Fitzgerald to Joni Mitchell and Joyce, her take on standard repertoire is both fresh yet well grounded in the tradition. In her first year of her degree she has studied with Nia Lynn, Norma Winstone and Dave Holland. Her band, TreeClimbers, recently sold out their debut gig in London and she is also made her debut appearance on a record for Jonny Mansfield's first album with his band ELFTET this September.
